Description

Two Turtle Doves is a multilayer linocut.

The image size is approx 23cm x 32cm and the paper size is approx 35cm x 41cm and is suitable for window mounting before framing.

It has been printed on Saunders Waterford Water colour paper using Lawrence's Linseed Oil relief printing inks and has been printed on my Harry F. Rochat Albion Press.
This linocut is part of an edition of 100 and is signed and numbered. As with all hand made prints colours vary very slightly.

The print will be sent rolled in a strong postal tube, carefully sandwiched between acid free tissue paper and protected by cellophane. The Linocut will be sent recorded with a tracking code.

This linocut was originally made for the book 'When Turtle Doves Fly' by Demelza Craven and Ann Lamb. The book highlights the decline of the UK Turtle Dove population, with many different artists illustrating the countries over which the Turtle Doves migrate. My image represents Morocco.

I first saw Vanessa's linocuts on a greetings card by green pebble. The reproductions don't really do the artistry justice. A beautiful colour palette combined with exquisite observational drawing and a fascinating multi layer printing process are hallmarks of Vanessa's linocuts. The print arrived superbly packaged and in perfect condition. Also included was a card of the above print with a personal message from the artist. Vanessa also added a little sheet of stickers, reproduction of some of her other work. Really inspiring print, I'll be back soon, some of the still lives and landscapes are really captivating too! Thank you so much I love the print and I'm sure it will be very well received (purchased as a gift).
