Description

This pocket altar is dedicated to connecting with the energy of the sea. (Or finding your inner mermaid. It'd likely be good for both.)

Imagine gliding through the sea's briny waters, and the cares of the terrestrial world sloughing off your shoulders like grains of sand.

This is what this altar's for -- finding that feeling, and connecting with the depths. Allowing the 70+% of your body that's water to reconnect with the water that covers most of the planet. For the symbolic water of the subconscious, and the wisdom and perspective therein.

The stones for La Mer are:

* Amazonite - to encourage a playful spirit
*Chrysocolla - for a fluidity of mind and thought and spirit
* Aquamarine - long said to be the treasure of mermaids; a very watery stone indeed

(With La Mer, because all the stones are similar, there is a card included as a guide, with the shape of the stone drawn in, so you can tell which is which.)

All pocket altars have been stitched by hand, and measure approximately 8 x 8” when unfolded. The stones have been smudged, and come in their own handmade muslin bag for easy storage.

Designs were created by me and stitched by me, using cotton (and occasionally silk) floss. It is backed with either wool felt or quality cotton. (This base is linen, and backing is quality cotton.)

These portable altars can be set up on just about any surface, and can be stored just as easily, making them perfect for short-term altar spaces or purpose-directed altars. The drawstring bag is translucent so you can see at a glance what’s inside.

Each one of these takes many hours to complete, and is one of a kind.

And just for the sake of warning: while wool and cotton are generally safe to use around candles, please never leave a burning candle unattended on the pocket altar (or anywhere else). Fires do happen, and I’d rather they not happen *to you*.

Returns and exchange details

All sales are final, unless the post office gremlins decided to play field hockey with your stuff. Get in touch with me if that happens and I'll do my best to make you as happy as I can.

Shipping policies

At this time, I can only ship physical items to the domestic USA. (Leaving the house to go to the post office requires pants, and I'm boycotting pants. Because pants.) Luckily, some of what's here is digital, so shipping won't be much of an issue, no matter where you live. <3
