This drum was inspired by traditional Mehndi henna designs used in important ceremonies. The translucent spots on the skin give this drum a lot of character that photos just don't seem to completely capture. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind drum!

A shamanic practitioner's drum is an important tool - a reliable friend who accompanies you on your journeys. So to celebrate its spirit I sit with each drum, pencil in hand, and wait for the drum to reveal its design to me. The design is then permanently tattooed onto the head of the drum using henna.

I've been playing tunable frame drums like this one for years and love them. With a simple twist of the tuning tool (included) you can tighten or loosen the goat skin head to change the tone of your drum or to make the necessary adjustments caused by changes in humidity. These drums have beautiful overtones. The frame is made from mulberry. The drum includes a tuning tool and leather beater.
