This has to be my favorite pattern that I have done so far. I designed this adorable play mat for my nephew. We took pictures of my son and daughter with it, and my son begged for it for months after we mailed it off! It was a huge hit! It's great for boys and girls, too.

It has roads, a fire house, a pond, a church, a library, and a police station, and airplane, and lots more. You can make the buildings into whatever you want, though!

This mat is great for babies since it has a lot of different things to look at and feel. It's also great for older kids who can use it for creative play. It doubles as a blanket, too!

This is a great project for using worsted and dk weight scrap yarn.

This pattern is for experienced crocheters. The background is really easy, but if you aren't used to pattern reading, then the little pieces will be difficult to do.

I also embroidered several items (moon, star, etc), and I really don't know how it embroider, so if you do, your play mat will look even better!

This piece needs a fabric backing to cover all the work of attaching the pieces, so a sewing machine would be useful as well (although I did mine by hand since I don't have one).

This pattern will be available to download as soon as payment is completed.
