This is a bundle of award winning wensleydale locks. these will still need gently separating from each other by grabbing the tip of the lock and pulling them out.
The fleece is soft silky and with a gorgeously amazing lustre. The locks and curls are washed by hand to preserve the lock structure. this is a beautiful open fleece with ringlet curls. It's hard to describe the silky lustre to do it justice.
The colour is a lustrous pearly creamy white with the average length approx 8 to 10 inches although this varies slightly with it being a natural product. The ringlet curl is not the whole length of the fibre, the fibre has a fluffy top end where the sheep undercoat is and on average in a 8 inch long curl, the curl ringlet will be about 6 inches. This is undyed and unbleached and just gently hand washed. Unlike many other shops these are gently treated and not bleached or peroxided with harsh chemicals and are the natural colour, the shades may vary from white to shades of gold.. The price reflects the extremely time consuming preparation. As this productis not treated with harsh chemicals it is not artificially pure white but has the natural creamy white luster.
There are limited quantities available as these are from an award winning UK flock where the sheep are looked after well and loved. They are free to roam green pasture and have an indoors stable for free access when they wish shelter. They are tame and curious and love to cuddle and come for strokes. This flock of sheep regularly win awards for their fleece. A cruelty free product. Animal welfare is extremely important to me and I twice yearly visit the flock.
This is gorgeous for spinning, felting or many other crafts and would make fabulous dolls hair.
This has been gently washed repeatedly in fresh water with Eucalan wool wash and a final rinse in water with a little vinegar. This restores the PH balance of the locks and retains their glorious soft silky lush feel. the locks are gently hand separated from the fleece
You will still need to pick apart the individual locks by grasping the lock tip and separating it from the rest of the locks
Small amounts of vegetable matter may be still present and the listing is for 50g.
