This design was featured in Stitch magazine, United Kingdom in December 2009.
DESIGN SIZE: The design, measuring 3inches (7cm)in diameter introduces a beginner to simple stumpwork techniques.
CONTENTS: The pattern and print includes the design screened onto the fabric, backing muslin, a full set of instructions, colour photographs and a stitch glossary.
N.B. Please note that threads and pincushion base are NOT included in our Pattern & Prints.
It incorporates a bit of stumpwork, with raised, textured stitches and threads. Suitable for a beginner to stumpwork, who has some knowledge of regular embroidery stitches. With the pincushion, I have used drizzle stitch for one sheep, a slip of French knots appliqued onto the background for the second and a couched woollen thread for the third. Alternatively drizzle stitch can be used for all three sheep. Both (see Counting Sheep picture) designs can be done either way! Little wired horns complete the design.
All of my pattern and prints are beautifully packaged in cellophane bags, making them very suitable as gifts.
A full kit can also be purchased if so desired - this includes all threads and the wooden base with its form -
