FAQs

Every piece of jewellery is cleaned prior to sale. Whether it is simply using some rubbing alcohol to clean and disinfect earrings or using a special cleaner to remove dirt, rust or tarnish, be assured that previously owned items are not coming to you dirty or in bad shape.

Depending on the item, minimal cleaning is done to preserve its patina.

If an item is damaged or broken, I will not sell it unless it is a bulk order of other items in similar condition that could be repurposed by someone far more creative than me.

Items missing pieces, such as a stone or bead, are noted in the description. I try to be honest about the condition of all my jewellery.
I use Canada Post to ship all items. With the exception of coins, I ship all items protected with plastic and bubble wrap to reduce the risk of damage. Depending on the size of the item, it will be mailed in an envelope or wrapped in brown shipping paper. If needed, I will box particularly fragile items.

Due to Canada's 2cm mail slot standard, you may see some differences in shipping costs. If the item is able to ship safely and measures less than 2cm, I will apply a $5 CDN and $8 US shipping rate. If the item is larger than that, then prices change to reflect that. Canadian shipping law requires all items over 2cm to be shipped as parcels with tracking, which is a minimum of $10-15 within Canada.
I research each item as much as possible to establish its price based on fair market value. Having conducted appraisals for income tax purposes on items (including jewellery, archival material, and other collectibles) that were donated to museums (10 years experience), I have particular sites that I visit and trust. I also search other Etsy shops to find similar items to make sure that I am neither underselling or overcharging, although there have been times where there have been discrepancies. Overall, I strive to be fair and reasonable in pricing my items.
