Description

Mid-century modern Brutalist styled bronze sculpture of a nude Female Athlete hurling a ball. This sculpture resembles the thin elongated forms of Alberto Giacometti, whose abstract sculptures were immensely popular in the 1960's. The thickly textured abstract style here emphasizes the athlete's motion, with her body arched, long limbs extended and hair flowing back in the breeze. This vintage tabletop sculpture likely dates from the mid-20th century and stands 7.5" tall on a 4" by 3.5" wood base, and weighs 1.25 lbs. There are no maker's marks I can see. A terrific small sculpture for your Modernist collection or decor.
