I used to frequent India, and one of my favorite restaurants in New Delhi was a place called "Tea House of the August Moon." The food was good, and the atmosphere and the name always transported me to a mystical and romantic mindset. Pretty pillows made of silk sarees, real silverware, tables inlaid with mother of pearl, canopies fringed with beads and tassles, a dimly lit room of candelights with the fragrance of freshly cut jasmine. It was a treat for me always, a relaxing and tranquil end to a busy work day.

I made this sterling silver necklace 35" long with a fresh water pearl coin pendant. The chain alone is quite pretty, as a narrow cable with tiny "balls of beads" like a pattern of stars. It can be worn many ways, as I have attached a hook to the end of the chain so you may close it at any point of drape you prefer your necklace to be that day. Wear it long or wrap it around twice, and slide the pearl where you want it to fall. Wear it like a lariat or layer it with your other pieces. Add your own personal charms to suit your individual style.

Oh, and why did I name this necklace Tea House of the August Moon?
Because I couldn't wait to name something that.
