Multi-Use Hanging Cocoon Stork Pouch KNITTING PATTERN #102

This is a set of instructions, not the physical object. Once you have paid, you will receive an email with instructions for downloading your pattern pdf, along with 2 other files:
1) yarn and needle terminology and equivalents
2) newborn photography and digital editing tips

This pattern can be knit by advanced beginners who know how to navigate the Internet for learning skills such as knitting in the front and back of a stitch and working simple decreases. I provide a couple of links to sites I recommend.

Many thanks to Memory Portraits by Gigi of Bradenton, Florida, who demonstrates the two uses of this prop, either hanging or wrapped around like a pod. This is a wonderful option for those babies who won't quite cooperate for the hanging shot.

Thanks also to Kimberly for this wonderful shot of her own little sweetie, Ally (9 pounds) in the cocoon she knit herself! And to my friend Bronwyn of Cape Town in South Africa, showing how her medium size cocoon for a smallish baby works well with baby lying down. The photo with the big leafy branch is from Diane of www.dbimpressions.com in Palmyra, PA.

Because young babies' necks are not strong, photographers will need to use some cheats like joining two photos together in photo editing or lying baby on his/her back with a helper stretching the top.
