Nourish
Vegan Facial Cream for dry or mature skin
Handmade by ajoeynamedroo
2 ounces

...What it is...
Nourish is a deeply moisturizing facial cream packed full of nutritious and beneficial essential oils. It has a delicate, whipped, fluffy texture, but it is also intensely moisturizing.

I use this lotion at night and herbaphilia during the day, but if you have dry skin, this lotion is perfect anytime! This lotion uses oils that are intensely moisturizing, and/or have anti-aging properties.

...It Contains...
Rosewater: Rosewater has antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It can reduce fine lines and inflammation. Many people use it as a toner to reduce wrinkles and heal acne. It helps maintain the PH balance of the skin.

Grapeseed Oil: Grapeseed Oil is one of my favorite oils. It is light and easily absorbed into the skin, yet it also has truly amazing benefits. It is a super-powered antioxidant, and is said to prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and acne. Antioxidants help fight free radicals, one of the causes of aging skin. The antioxidants in grape seed are called proanthocyanidins, and are stronger than both Vitamins C and E.

Sunflower Oil: We use high oleic oil, which contains high levels of monounsaturated acids. It helps skin retain moisture and prevents dryness. Sunflower oil is also an antioxidant, and contains vitamin E and Vitamin B. It also has stearic acid, which you will read about on down the list. Sunflower oil is also easily absorbed into the skin for maximum benefits.

Cetearyl Alcohol and Ceteareth 20: Emulsifying wax. Emulsifying wax is used to combine oils and water. Without it, you would have a nasty mess, and definitely no lotion! Our emulsifying wax is a vegetable-derived blend of fatty alcohols.

Sweet Almond Oil: It has a high concentration of oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids, and it gives your skin amazing relief from dryness. It is often used in skin care products for the face to improve complexion. It is great for all skin types.

Olive Oil: Olive oil is high in antioxidants. If I have especially dry skin, sometimes I will add a few drops of olive oil over my lotion at night. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is *so* soft. It is excellent for relieving dry, itchy skin and skin inflammations.

Stearic Acid: Used as a thickener in lotions and other skin care products. It is a saturated fatty acid that can be animal or vegetable derived. We always used vegetable-derived stearic acid. The fatty acids in cocoa butter and shea butter are made of up to 45% stearic acid.

Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol: An alcohol-based preservative. All emulsions (the blending of water and oils) must have a preservative. This gentle preservative is both paraben and formaldehyde free.

Vitamin E: There are two types of Vitamin E. Tocopherol, or natural Vitamin E, and tocopheryl acetate, the acetic acid ester of Tocopherol. We use natural vitamin E because it is believed that it penetrates the skin more effectively than the acetate. Vitamin E is extremely high in antioxidants, and therefore used in many creams used to treat fine lines and wrinkles.

Lemongrass Essential Oil: Definitely one of my favorite fragrances. It smells nice, but it's also a powerhouse for your skin. Lemongrass makes an excellent toner because it creates a natural dilation in the blood vessels, leading to a supple face with tightened pores and less apparent wrinkles.

Lavender essential oil: In addition to being deliciously fragrant, lavender has antiseptic and anti-fungal properties, and it is often used to treat acne. It can also be used to promote healing of scars, as it aids in the formation of new tissue. This makes it ideal in a night creme because it aids your body's natural regeneration process.

Lemon essential oil: It smells wonderful, and it is used to brighten and refresh tired, dull skin.

Each container holds approximately 2 ounces of facial creme. Due to the fresh, natural ingredients, it is best if used within 1 year. Paraben free.
