The soft and sinewy lines of famous Danish smith Georg Jensen, are exhibited in this wonderful and classic post war version of his famous silver dove brooch, design number 123.

Based on a painting by Kristian Mohl-Hansen, the beautiful brooch is one of Jensen's most popular and enduring designs since the early 1900's.

It is solidly cast in sterling silver and crafted in the traditional "Skonvirke" Art Nouveau style of the period, with it's voluptuous and 'puffy' appearance -- comprising a three dimensional dove bird, surrounded by flowing overlapping leaves in openwork fashion.

This particular brooch was issued in 1952, and measures approximately 1&7/8 inches round, weighs 14.3 grams, and bears the postwar signature of "Georg Jensen" within a dotted oval, along with "Sterling", "Denmark", and design number "123".
