A LITTLE ABOUT MARY:
Born & raised at the Santo Domingo Pueblo,where she continues to live with her husband & children.Mary couldn't escape the Pueblo's known "art of mosaic".Both her mother & father created mosaic pieces many years ago & were one's who did the old(And now very collectible) "Depression Era Thunderbird necklaces",where they used battery casings &LP's for their backings,which now has been replaced with black Jet.Mary is also the aunt of another collectible mosaic artist,"Jolene Bird".

She has taken this ancient art of mosaic,by taking a more contemporary 21st approach,while staying very traditional in technique & has taken her art, where no one else has,with her signature identity having a heavy "Folk Art" feel, that is colorful,happy & very whimsical.

And just like any 'true' artist,No 2 are created alike..Mary creates only when her spirit,having a clear mind,her hands & all other creative juices are in sync..Once you see her art,you will never forget it,since she has her own style, that belongs to only her.

THE PANELS:
Wow,will this fill the senses with happiness or what!!!??? This is definitely a piece of art to be appreciated!

Called this the "People of the World" necklace & is made with an explosion of color! I don't think there is one color missing!

It is made in Mary's signature Folk Art style,with each panel being different from the next.Each & every piece started from the whole rock or shell,that is then cut & placed in a mosaic form, to create all the whimsical images.She doesn't know what they will look like,until she starts to mosaic,which is when the magic starts to develop! The cuts have a deliberate irregularity to them & this is the beauty of Mary's work,with each having a 'perfect at being imperfect' sort of look!

Each panel has a abstract face with a circular cut of bone, that is then filled in with mosaic.Surrounding the bone are different colored tops.Each body is different & if you notice the center panel,it has green Malachite & this is the 1st time Mary has used this.

My photos tell it all,so please go through all I provided to get a feel for this very special & incredible piece of ART!! I do have more if you need to see them!

THE HAND ROLLED BEADS:
Looking exactly like 'stretch candy necklaces' from the 60's,Mary cut each & everyone of these beads & from what she told me,was not easy!! Usually her husband Lorenzo cuts the necklace & is usually her necklaces are made with hand cut heishi.

The difference in this one is, heishi is cut all together being strung on piano wire & then ground down...With this necklace,each & every bead is cut individually!!

Each are hand rolled cut & beveled from the center out & again, like the candy necklaces,each have a flat center.It's very obvious that this was very time consuming & especially getting them all in a perfect 10-11 mm size bead!!

The ends are finished with Kingman turquoise & comes with a sterling hook & eye closure.The closure is the type that can easily have an extender put on to make it longer, if you wish!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The necklace lays beautifully & very comfortable along the bottom of the neck & sits high,right where the viewers eye goes..It is definitely a conversation piece!
This is a "One-of-a Kind" necklace with not another like it!! You can compliment it by wearing any of Mary's earrings or by pulling from any one of the stones used!
**HOLIDAY SHOPPERS**
ALL OTHER SALES:
Please go over all photos,description,weights,measurements & ask any questions before purchasing to avoid a return! I do not allow returns based on "BUYERS REMORSE".(too heavy,too light,too big,too small, I went over budget, for example) This why it is important that you read over all the info(Weights/Measurements) to make sure you can wear any of my items.I am very good about giving all the info you need (Plus more!) about the piece,so please go over this before buying & ask any questions with concerns.I respond quickly & am here to help you!
To get a accurate idea of how big the item is,please pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements..I do not send out defective pieces & all items are sent out in good working condition,however, sometimes unforeseen things can happen afterward.In these situations,then of course I am happy to accept a return if the item is defective(stone fell out,post of earring broke,etc) & will accept the item up to 30 days.Please include a photo.
There will be no restocking fee for an an exchange of equal value or greater. For any money back situations, there is a 15% restocking fee. Buyer pays return shipping.
To give you close ups,pictures tend to look much more larger & much more magnified than in actuality.Close up's make the item look so large & then you get them in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than imagined..Also,things you'll see in photos that look highly noticeable,are generally not in person,since everything is much more magnified in photos..
**I am not a professional photographer & I do try to do my very best at giving you accuracy in color..Sometimes colors can vary on the computer/mobile phone & can either look more vibrant, lighter or darker,depending on settings,either on your end or mine..So please go through all photos,to see any variation..I can only call a color how I know it to be,you may call it something else.**
I am easy to work with & want to see you happy & satisfied,so all I ask is that you contact me so I know what's going on.
