With enchanting grain patterns and a deep reddish-brown hue, this cherry table top is tough to beat. It's the perfect hardwood: Beautiful, durable, and less expensive than many of the alternatives (and it only gets better with age!). I prefer to make the legs and shelf with cherry as well, but they can also be made with another wood on request.

The table is finished with Black Forest Furniture Oil, an oil-based finish that gives the wood an absolutely gorgeous sheen along with plenty of protection from water and other liquids, while also leaving the natural feel and look of the cherry.

As with all my projects, this table is completely customizable. Need the table slightly larger or smaller? Want something a little more extravagant like walnut or mahogany, or a little simpler like oak or maple? Need the extra protection of a polyurethane finish instead of the furniture oil?
