These lovely cabochons are vintage Japanese in origin. They were made in occupied Japan. The last photo shows the original package. They are a lovely shade of rose pink, with a beautifully detailed flower and leaf design and a glossy surface. There is some subtle pink and white marbling of the glass that may vary from stone to stone, adding to their interest and beauty. They are reminiscent of rose quartz. The backs are flat, and these cabs are pierced, usually in 3 places per stone. These cabs measure 12x10mm. I've shown these cabochons with one of my inchies (mini art 1 inch square) for your size estimates. These are a great size and weight for all the paper arts, and would make beautiful charms and jewelry too. Because they are pierced, they can be glued, sewn or wired into your designs. You will receive 8 cabochons.

Japan was occupied from 1945 until April 1952, placing the date of manufacture of these cabochons somewhere in that range.
