Late 1930s/Early 40s Purse
If you love the black corde (pronounced "cor-DAY") purses of the 30s & 40s, you would certainly find this one most interesting! This one is from the 30's and is IVORY corde. It's very small and quite dazzling with it's intricate popcorn crochet and that handle with the sublimely-molded floral, which is a plastic known as Pyralin. There are no maker labels in this. The lining is hand-sewn with very fancy blue stitches on the inside and the little inner pocket. (These were often handmade from kits) It is not dirty. 10'' from top to bottom, 11 1/2'' at widest point, 7'' handle.
