Description

"Bird's Eye View" is a single toggle collage switch plate made with an original photo of the (in)famous Chelsea Hotel in New York City, taken from the window of a room on the 10th floor, and an original photo of a flicker from my backyard in Seattle.

All of my light switch covers are made using secondhand/recycled switch plates which are created into either a Photo or Collage Series of decorative pieces to liven up any room in the house. Also great for offices, dorms, or wherever light switches may be found.

In the Photo Series I use professional prints of my original digital photography that have been sized, cut, and specially formatted to fit each switch plate.
In the Collage Series I use decorative papers from a variety of recycled sources (maps, magazines, art books, calendars, etc.) along with cutouts of my original bird & wildlife photos to create unique, fun, or whimsical scenes. No two are alike!

The completed pieces are covered with a homemade, eco-friendly decoupage mix, and coated with a few layers of protective varnish. The varnish allows for easy cleaning-- just wipe with a damp cloth. Because the base switch plate is secondhand, no hardware is included with this item. (ie: screws)
