Description

midcentury blue rhinestone necklace with blue apatite and sterling silver

This necklace a marriage of two parts, the pendant part is a length of 1950s necklace with bright blue faceted apatite rondells.
This was an idea of mine when I had the central part of a 1950s rhine stone necklace. I just couldn't bring myself to harvest the rhinestones for other projects. One of the reasons was just how stunning these rhinestones are, oh boy their colour is stunning! A collection of beautiful clear rhinestones and other bright blue dazzling rhinestones just made me stop and consider what to do next.
The final part of this necklace are some gorgeous apatite, these really do stand up to the rhinestones as they are so sparkly and the colour is beautiful.
The apatite is wired with sterling silver wire and the rhinestones are set into a lovely gold brass setting. The clasp is handmade by me using thicker sterling wire and is a hook design which is very easy to fasten.

This necklace I think would be so lovely for a wedding day. Perhaps worn by the bride - something blue?

I have also added a small blue forgetmenot enamelled charm, I think this is Victorian.
