This listing is for 1 cup of crushed walnut shells. This is the filling I use in my wool pincushions. 1 cup should be enough to make four of my largest pincushions. Add 1/4 cup to the top of the cushions then pack them tight with polyfil. This gives you the perfect pincushion with just enough "crunch" at the top where you put your pins. Pack the rest of your cushion with polyfil fiber. You can adjust the amount of polyfil used to make it soft or hard to suit your personal taste.

Crushed walnut shells are eco-friendly and make a perfect filler besides keeping your pins sharp and clean, they are sometimes used for polishing rocks or metal and as a skin exfoliant.
