Freeform Celtic-inspired pin, this is my playful version of my classic Relic Pin. Each one is forged individually in my studio, using very heavy gauge copper that I hand, hammer, then tumble for several hours to harden and polish it. The functional concept is based on the historical European penannular cloak closure brooches from the middle ages.

This pin beautifully holds shawls and wraps in place. It will anchor both light weight silk scarves and heavy woven shawls or capes in place without damaging the fibers.

This is for the bright copper finish shown in the first photo (The bottom two photos show my popular Relic Circle Pin, available in a different listing.)

My hand forged brooches are sturdy & substantial with just the right amount of flex, and not so heavy as to weigh down or drag on your light weight scarf and shawl fabric. Each brooch is a unique piece, and the hammered texture and/or patina finish may vary slightly from the photos.

The circle measures around 1-1/2” diameter and the pin-rod is slightly longer. The pin-rod is filed to a slightly blunted point to easily slip through stitches of woven or knitted fabrics, but let me know if you want it sharpened to pierce through tight weaves such as fine pashminas. For silk and chiffon scarves, I recommend going underneath & around the fabric layers rather than piercing through the fabric, as shown in the bottom photo.

This is super easy to figure out and use, and instructions are included.

In addition to holding wraps and accessories in place, this is a wonderful way to close a knitted cardigan for you knitters who prefer not to make buttonholes.

Given the handmade, OOAK nature of my forged pins, slight but insignificant variations will occur from piece to piece.
