Sometimes you like wildflowers in a vase all higgelty-piggelty, other times you're drawn to those tight, little perfect posies.

I am being drawn to vintage floral fabrics in a big way at the moment and am using them to line knitted garments and also, like with these Posy Puff Cuffs, (say that out loud, you'll find it feels so nice in your mouth) loud and proud on the outside.

I knitted four bands of very soft 60% merino wool, 20% alpaca and 20% silk Mirasolpera yarn from Peru. Then cut and top-stitched the most lovely vintage floral fabric (lined with cream cotton fabric) and hand-sewed the fabric pieces to the knitted knuckle and wrist bands with tiny stitches and on the inside edge, leaving space for your thumb.

I ripped a strip of the same vintage floral fabric to make the ribbon which goes through the edging band at the wrists and hangs or can be tied in a bow if you're in the mood for bows.

These feel so lovely on! They're raunchy and feminine, pretty and staunch. Oh I just love this kind of juxtaposition.
