There is something magical about tulle. When a little girl puts it on she suddenly changes into a princess or ballerina, I saw it happen when my little girl posed for these photos! Twirling and whirling and loving the feeling of being special.
These tutu’s are very easy to make, even for a beginner to sewing. Learn how to make those little skirts really stand out and have a high “twirly” factor. This pattern is for sewn tutu’s. Machine sewing is used, there is no hand sewing or tying tulle. The waistband of the tutu is completely smooth so no tulle will rub against little bellies. This pattern uses tulle purchased by the yard on a bolt- not the tulle sold on rolls 6" wide.
There are two styles of tutu included in this PDF pattern, a short (ballerina style) and full length (princess style). Tutus can be made of one solid color or more than one by using the simple formula included to figure yardage. The step by step instructions feature over 30 color photographs to help guide you through the process. Sizing charts help you to make a perfect fit and buy just the right amount with little waste material. Sizes 12 months to 6x are included.
