Description

These are, quite simply spectacular!

These staves are larger than my regular sets - the staves are around 4 inches long, and some up to 3/4 of an inch thick. Each stave is carefully selected and crafted from a piece of wood from the tree that the stave represents. In this case I've made a point of selecting interesting pieces of wood for the stave - those with knots and twists, branches and strange knarls.

The starves are lightly sanded (by hand) and a small piece of bark carved off in order to pyrograph them with the appropriate ogham symbol, making them much harder wearing than oghams that are just painted.

The ogham is a celtic alphabet/divination system, based on 20 native British trees. It is used in much the same way as runes, though less commonly used than runes.

The set will come with an information sheet that has been put together by me and gives a basic guide to using the ogham and keywords for the meaning of each stave to help get you started.

The Staves come to you in a handmade pouch to keep them together. All the fabric that I use is recycled from old clothes, curtains and even vintage pieces.

All wood I use for my crafts is gathered or collected from other's prunings, I don't harvest any wood. Wood largely comes from my parents-in-law's property in kent, where they manage 43 acres of woodland organically.

Perfect. Beautifully done and exactly the size I wanted for a traveling altar, although they look beautiful on the altar in my home. Thank you.

Shipping policies

I will ship your item in 1-2 working days of receiving your payment.

For Customers in Italy, Spain, Greece and Mexico I will only send items by international signed for mail - I've had too many losses to these countries to feel confidant shipping by regular mail.

Items sent to UK destinations will be sent by 1st class signed for as standard or special delivery if otherwise stated.

If you live elsewhere and know that you have unreliable post please contact me - I can add it to your order. Standard airmail does not include tracking, your item will not be sent with tracking unless it is specified in the listing.

Please be aware of your countries customs requirements - this is your responsibility, not mine!

Likewise, some countries have policies around shipping items with bark attached - I've not had an issue with this, but again - your responsibility, not mine to know what restrictions your country may have.

Additional policies

I am always happy to consider wholesale orders for sale away from etsy or ebay (where I also have a store) - please contact me for further details.
