Silver sixpence coins are traditional lucky charms, and are a part of traditional English weddings, as noted by the ditty "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a (silver) sixpence for her shoe."

If someone you know is getting married soon, this 100-year old 1915 English sterling silver sixpence would make a great gift!

The front side features an lion standing atop a crown.

This design was made in sterling silver between 1911 and 1919 exclusively, and also in 50% silver from 1920 until 1925. Other dates may be available.

Note on British sixpence:
Only those made up until 1919 are made of solid sterling silver, and contain no nickel whatsoever. Those made between 1920 and 1946 are made of .500 (50%) silver (and may contain small amounts of nickel <=5%), while those made between 1947 and 1967 are made of a copper-nickel alloy. Copper-nickel, of course, may result in allergic reactions to those with nickel allergies.
