100% of the proceeds from these note cards goes to supporting campers to attend a Royal Family KIDS Camp. The primary purpose of RFKC is to give foster children ages 6-12 a week of positive memories and royal treatment in a Christian camp environment. Many of these kids have been neglected and abused and for one week we get to lavish them with fun activities, gifts, attention, and make them feel important and special. It's a 1:1 or 2:1 camper to counselor ratio to ensure lots of attention and care. The camp is for kids currently in foster care and relies 100% of donations and volunteers. My husband and I volunteer each summer and if if you want to hear a few of our personal stories, scroll to the bottom.

Our RFKC Story

Marc and I got back from camp Friday night. Camp was amazing! There are so many stories from camp, but I thought I'd share just a few short stories from our campers.

On the first day Marc taught the story of Joseph and after he said that his brothers abandoned him in a well, one little boy spoke up and looking directly at Marc said, "My mom abandoned me."

Another day Marc's cabin (5 or 6 8-year-old boys) was at story time with Grandma and Grandpa and when they were asked if they had any prayer requests one little boy spoke up and wanted prayer so that his "mommy would get off drugs."

One of my campers (11 years old) was homeless after her mom's boyfriend got them kicked out of a motel. She said she lived in a U-Haul for a time before entering foster care. On the first day at dinner she said she always wanted a dress but was told she was too fat by her birth mom, and her foster mom said dresses were "overrated" so RFKC our staff went out one day to buy her a dress so she could have one for her birthday. She was so happy when she opened her present and she didn't want to take it off. She moves in with her aunt on Wednesday so we pray that will be a good placement. My other camper lives with her grandma in a 2-bedroom apartment along with 9 other people (including 3 younger siblings).

Marc helped an 8-year old learn to ride a bike for the first time. He was convinced he couldn't but then just glowed after about 10 minutes and was a champ by the end. Other kids got in a pool for the first time and had an absolute blast.

These precious kiddos have been so hurt by those who are supposed to love them the most. Giving them a week with fun and good memories just doesn't seem like enough, but we've heard testimonies on how much of an impact it can make. The week is packed with various activities from woodworking (building things like doll cribs and bug catchers) painting, zip-lining, swimming, going down giant slip'n'slides, decorating cookies, catching frogs (the boys!), playing sports, etc. They all had so much fun. Throughout the week we took pictures of each kid and then sent them home with a book of 30+ pictures of themselves having fun. One girl in my cabin (also 11) only had one picture of herself from when she was 3, so she was just thrilled to have the book. It's also a precious token they can keep and remember back on happy times and that they were loved and are always loved by God.
