Orange and aqua and black, oh my! This Kinkozan porcelain Cannonball Pitcher & 2 Tumblers from Japan is an unusual estate find; previous owner dates it 1930s, but it's so rare, I’ve been unable to verify this yet…regardless of its exact age, this vintage set is a vivid visual treat: a surreal desert (or is it oceanic?) scene in wild and wonderful colors used in unusual combinations; the aforementioned orange, aqua & black are joined by lovely lavenders and bright yellows to create a dramatic fantastical landscape that is unmatched. You simply won’t find anything else like this!

Set consists of a cannonball-shaped Pitcher with angular handle and rounded foot, with 2 matching flared-lip drinking glasses/tumblers, all in extremely well-preserved vintage condition: light crazing, the pitcher has some stains, and the glasses have some tiny glaze nicks around the bottom edges, not extremely noticeable...otherwise, no chips, cracks, repairs, etc. See photos for more detail.

Makers mark is present on the bottom of the tumblers (only).

Pitcher measures 6.5 inches high [16.5cm] and 8 inches from handle to spout [20.3cm]; tumblers measure 3 7/8 inches high [9.7cm] and 3 inches in diameter [7.6cm] at mouth.

PLEASE NOTE: Vintage and antique dishes were often decorated with glazes containing varying levels of toxic substances, like lead or cadmium. If you have a concern, please research before purchasing. To minimize exposure when using vintage dinnerware, please observe the following precautions: use infrequently; do not expose to high heat, including microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers; avoid contact with acidic foods & liquids, especially if piece is cracked or crazed (slight crackling of the clear overglaze); do not use to store food or liquids; hand wash with a gentle detergent soon after use and allow to air dry.
