Description

This jar is wheel thrown with a wider base and narrow top for stability and to provide a firmer grip. The lid knob is made from a custom grooved extrusion which is cut and shaped to give a pronounced thumb and finger grip. A slip trailed pattern is added as decoration on one side of the body. The bottom of the jar is trimmed flat and smoothed with a diamond polishing pad and stamped with my initials.

This jar holds approximately 5 oz. Its dimensions are approximately 3" high, 3.5" wide at the bottom, with an top opening of 3".

This listing is for a single sugar jar. It was made as part of a coffee set series. It is shown with other glaze options, matching espresso cups, creamer and coffee pot from that series. The original version had a cut out for a spoon handle, this version has a full lid, which was requested by a number of customers.

If the coffee pot or creamer is available, it will be listed in the Kitchen & Condiments section:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/JasonHooperPottery?section_id=16667089

If the espresso cup is available, it will be listed in the Mugs, Cups, & Glasses section:

I throw every piece by hand on a potter's wheel and/or use my own custom made extrusions. Most of my pieces use overlapping glazes that I make myself. When they melt and flow in the firing, the results are unique. I aim to achieve a high degree of consistency in size, shape and glaze color but no two will be exactly alike. The item you order will be as close to the photos as possible but please allow for minor variances. If this is a key concern for you, please contact me and I can send you photos of the exact piece(s) I will be shipping.

FAQs

If your purchase is a gift to be shipped directly to the recipient, I will gladly include a gift card in the shipping box. If you want me to include a short written message to the recipient, write it in the section "Notes to Seller" as you checkout.

For US orders flagged as gifts, I will not include a printed invoice in the package. International orders legally require an invoice to be included and the customs form for the package will also be marked as commercial, not as a gift.

It takes lots of energy to make pottery so I fire my kiln with the help of renewable energy generated by my own solar panels. I also load the kiln with items of mixed sizes to make the best use of the space available. All excess clay from production is reworked to eliminate any waste.
As a small business owner, feedback is important and I would encourage you to message or call me with any concerns or problems regarding your order before leaving feedback so we can resolve the situation ASAP. I want you to be happy with your new pottery and make shopping with me a positive experience.
International buyers are responsible for any customs, import, and local sales taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs. VAT, for example, is not included in my listing price and may be charged to the buyer on delivery.
