This listing is for a really gorgeous antique Art Deco era bronze, handmade soap dish with the face of a cat. This is one of my favorite's! We've already sold a dish very similar to this one that was from the Victorian era. This one is from the 20's or 30's. I love cat's and finding this lovely dish completely made my day. I have used it for soap in the bathroom and as a trinket on my vanity as well as for business cards on my desk. It is the perfect size for calling cards. The dish was clearly handmade by a craftsman of great skill and talent. The bronze is richly detailed, deeply carved and the cat's face, ears, fur and whiskers are very realistic looking. The bottom of the dish, has three bronze feet. The bronze is aged and has a lovely patina which I will not remove or clean because it's beautiful and just adds to the piece. This lovely dish will go with any decor and would be a perfect piece to add to your collection or to give as a gift! Already over 75 years old and guaranteed to last forever! In perfect condition, with no chips, cracks or defects.
The soap dish measures 3 3/8" across the ears and the height from chin to top of head measures 3 9/16". The dish stands 7/8" off the surface that it sits on. The dish is quite heavy for it's size weighing just under a 1/2 pound at 7 ounces.
