Description

What gives a gemstone it's color? If you're familiar with Tourmaline gemstones, you know that most of them are green. So why is this one red? Most gemstones are allochromatic, meaning that they are colored by trace elements in their crystal structure. These impurities, change the way light passes though or gets absorbed but the stone. Tourmalines are so much fun because they come naturally in so many colors! A little dab of this or a pinch of that, and Mother Nature has made a whole new color for us to enjoy. The Tourmaline I have for you today is a deep rosy red but will take on different hues in various lights. It is oval cut, 6x4mm, .46 carats and just as cute as it can be. I very rarely get a Tourmaline in this unique color.

The sterling silver band was handmade by me, one tiny piece at a time. Since the gem is unique, I wanted a unique design to go with it. The tourmaline sits down in an oval of silver. The oval is then hugged between two bars of silver that circle the finger. These two bars come back together and hop over a silver bar to great the gemstone. The ring is about 12mm wide near the silver bar and then tapers down to 2.5mm on the palm side. Life is too short to wear ordinary jewelry!

This ring is a size 6.5.

My rings come in a lovely ring box tied with a ribbon. It will be beautifully packaged and will arrive by insured mail within the US. For my international customers, I use First class mail with a custom's tracking number. Some countries charge tax or duty which will be the responsibility of the buyer.
