An illustration from Gay's "Beggar's Opera" showing the highwayman captain Macheath visited by his wife and the woman he promised to marry. The scoundrel!

This is a photogravure salvaged from a vintage book from 1892 that was no longer viable. This is particular page is from a lot of images I obtained which have an extraordinary amount detail and depth; each picture comes with its own protective tissue paper cover which describes in detail the story, and reference information for the image underneath. The back of the page is blank.

The overall size of this piece is approximately 9" x 12" (22.5 x 30cm) with the actual image 6" x 8" (15 x 20.3cm).

This item is an antique, over 118 years old, and is sold as-is; please enlarge the pictures to see details. There are no bends or creases in the image, however there may be some minor roughness along the edges and the pages have yellowed or stained.

You will receive the exact item in the images. It will be shipped in a protective sleeve and cardboard reinforced envelope. There is no additional shipping if it purchased with another item.
