Description

These items were part of a number of cooking/ baking/ brewing items owned by my Great Great Aunt & Uncle [who lived in Philadelphia, PA.]

The scoop & funnel were part of some small items kept together that my Uncle had used to home brew beer. They made small batches of beer for themselves & also made limoncello in their back hallway that they would sell on the side.

The scoop has a smooth edge & a wide front with rounded edge 7 a nice fingerhold handle.

The funnel has a lot of nice character but has seen some battle as the tip is a bit crushed. It has a nice shape overall & a hinged ring to hang it from or hold onto.

Both are made of tin - both with a nice patina.

About the owner;
My Aunt had a small apartment in Philadelphia with her husband and 4 children. She was a housewife who liked to sew [outside of it being a necessity]. My uncle worked in a foundry & 2 of their 4 kids stopped going to school by the 6th grade to work full time to help support the family.

These unique pieces would be excellent to display or decorate with, and due to their size, they'd also make a very interesting ornaments.

Measures;
Scoop
** Approx. 5 1/2" at widest width
** Approx. 1 3/4" diameter
** Approx. 1" in height from rounded base
Funnel

I have other vintage tin items listed & baking-ware.
Please contact me if you have questions or desire to bundle a few of these items together.

CRUELTY FREE ITEMS & ART;
ALL my claw/ fang & 'organic' materials are indeed cruelty free. I have no desire to support or cut into a profit of the harming of creatures. [PREPARE FOR THE LONG STORY]

I have a very good childhood friend, Aquene, whose father & uncle are both 'Shaman', one works for the forestry service in upstate CA and in Alaskan as well. Her uncle is does the same with fish & game working on the East coast. The family has always been 'Earth conscious' giving animals a small ceremony of life while also using pcs in daily life . My friend, who grew up in this 'natural environment' has taken an artistic approach to a part time hobby creating 'taxidermy art' & sells the pcs giving the processed to various nature & animal charities.

So, my claws, teeth, bone & other organic material comes from this line of family. Father & Uncle encounter animals who have died naturally in the wild & have 'deteriorated' or have unfortunately been hit on the side of the road. They also collect 'shed horns'.

These items of nature, if not used by Aquene's Dad or Uncle - are sent to her for her art. & she in turn shares them with me. I trade with her [because bartering is fun!] & in turn I'm blessed to have cool things to create with & truly grateful for this process :)

I'm so pleased to know others are being conscious of the world around them :)
