Very rare antique French book "Histoire Naturelle Générale et Particulière des Plantes, Tome dix-huitème", Charles François Brisseau de Mirbel 1806, (tome 18)

Charles-François Brisseau de Mirbel (27 March 1776 – 12 September 1854) was a French botanist and politician. He was a founder of the science of plant called cytology. He wrote "Histoire naturelle, générale et particulière de plantes" (Natural, general and particular history of plants ) a reference collection of books in his field between 1802 -1806.

This book is volume number 18, written in 1806. This is the first and only edition. It contains a douzain beautifully detailed engravings of plants on thick paper.It was previously owned by two school libraries and has their stamps on the first and last pages.

This book is over two centuries old, so it is in vintage condition. The cover shows signs of age (discoloration, usage scratches, library sticker on the spine, one tear on the back side of the spine, one tear on the green paper at the bottom left). The inside is in very good condition except for a few humidity spots. Please see the photos above for details.
