Item details

yarn, beads, ribbons

It's a German tradition to hide a pickle in the thick of the Christmas tree branches the night before Christmas. On Christmas morning, the child to find the pickle first gets an extra gift and is said to be the receiver of good luck. Well, I cannot *guarantee* that good luck, but it sounds like a fun tradition to me!

This Christmas pickle is crocheted from a green wool blend and stands about 3.5 inches tall. (Okay, he can't really stand on his own!) He's stuffed with fiberfil, adorned with sewn-on beads for eyes and an embroidered mouth, and topped off with a silk black ribbon for hanging purposes.

ps-crafted in the Heinz pickle land o' Pittsburgh!
