Description

- Absolutely stunning vintage 1950s emerald green dress with black & gold stripes throughout.

- The colour is a lovely rich emerald green, some of the photos wash the colour out a bit.

- Per label the make is Blanes, no more info other than 'Size D'

- The fabric is very light with a lovely sheen, sort of a thin taffeta maybe with black and gold lurex stripes on the green, very striking.

- Looks like it was boned but the bones have been removed making the top less structured, but possibly more comfortable!

- The only issue is the stitching around the straps which looks like it's been under a bit of pressure & could probably do with a teeny tidy up, nothing particularly noticeable or insurmountable.

- Other than that, lovely condition with no stains, marks, holes or damage.

- I wore this a couple of times years ago and I recall the skirt is quite see through when worn so a black slip or petticoat would be a good idea. The first photo shown is with a black net petticoat underneath.

- No belt loops so maybe never had it's own belt but looks great with a black belt, & probably with a gold one too.

SIZE My measurements (fastened & laid flat) are:
Armpit to armpit 16"/16.5"
Bust up to 36" I would say
Waist 13"/13.5" across
Skirt length 28"
I would imagine the strap length could be adjusted for a good fit.

- The top is fully lined.

- Fastens at the back with a fully working metal zip plus hook & eye at the top.

Really beautiful dress, great for dancing, parties and occasions.

FAQs

How do we measure vintage items?
All clothing is measured flat in INCHES and has been doubled.

BUST:
Taken from under the armpit across to the other armpit.

WAIST:
The Narrowest part of the dress / top / shirt.

HIPS:
Widest part of the dress around the bottom. Only relevant for tighter garments.

LENGTH:
From the middle of the dress / top / skirt to the bottom of the hem .

BAGS
Bags are measured flat too.
Width (Taken across the widest part.)
Height: Top to Bottom.
Strap Drop: Measurement from the top of the strap to where it joins the bag so you know what length it will sit on your body.

If you require any more measurements please get in touch and I would be happy to get my tape measure out!
