This is a low fire earthenware ceramic serving tray made from a mold taken from an actual New Orleans Water Meter lid from Barracks in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is a large sized serving tray. The tray is made with non toxic glaze and is safe for food.

This tray is maroon with purple tint.
6.25 inches wide
8 inches across
1 inch tall.

This serving tray is great for display with mints, chocolates, or even appetizers for a nice dinner. Done in the style of a sushi tray.

The New Orleans Water Meter lid has been taken on as an unofficial symbol of New Orleans by many of its residents. It is a design that goes back to the early 1900's and was first made for use in the French Quarter and then later different versions were made for other areas of Uptown and the Garden District. This version is the one that is found (sparsely now as people are stealing these prized items) in the French Quarter.

I enjoy using these when serving guests and I hope you do as well.

Custom orders and colors may be accommodated, however prices vary upon glaze color and order number, but I'd be happy to create the exact type you are looking for. Please message me if you would like a special order made.
