Description

A classic 18th century pine cricket table with a nicely shaped freize or apron beneath a good, thick circular top. It has lost nothing off its height, the legs are in good condition and haven't been subject to rot and cut down, as so often happens with cricket tables. It sits on a base that has pegged mortice and tenon joints, all of which are as solid as when it was made and it stands firm without rocking.

The circular top has a good finish with lots of characterful knots and signs of use commensurate with its age. The table is totally original and would look good in a conservatory, bedroom or breakfast room, adding a nostalgic antique feel to the ambience.

During its time it has been well cared-for and the shiney gloss that you see is the natural patina, having only been clear waxed by us. This is a really lovely old table.

Height 61cm
Dia 57.5cm

Shipping policies

On LARGE BULKY ITEMS such as antique chests of drawers or sets of chairs or tables, I usually list the shipping cost as £50.00 - PLEASE NOTE, this is generally the price for LONDON AND THE SOUTH-EAST, and is not the same for other parts of the country. If you wish to purchase a large item, and don't live in that area, please contact me first for a quotation of the delivery charge, which, if you decide to go ahead, I can adjust on the listing so you can easily check out with the right prices being charged to you :-) I know this is an awkward situation, but the Esty listing template only allows for one price in the shipping cost box. This is all very well if one is posting small items via Royal Mail, but it doesn't work for big bulky things which have to be shipped by a carrier. I've written to Esty about this problem, suggesting they revise the template to include a box saying 'shipping charge varies' but I don't know if they will be able to do this or not.
ANOTHER OPTION for getting big items of furniture from us, is to pick them up yourself from our storage facility in Leominster, Herefordshire, by prior arrangement.

FURTHER NOTES
If you would like a large item of furniture etc delivered, I only ship within the UK. Usually within 5 days, although since you will be deciding on the actual delivery date with the carrier (more info on that below!) it will vary. Also, I might be on vacation or there could be a national holiday.
Deliveries are made through a third party carrier. Any problems regarding (a) Damaged items, (b) Non delivery, (c) Late delivery, (d) Missing parcels of a multiple shipment must be reported immediately and the matter will be pursued. Photographic evidence will be required in the case of damage to the outside of the parcel so please bear this in mind when opening.

Additional policies

General

The intending purchaser must be deemed to have read and understand all of the accompanying terms.

The intending purchaser must satisfy themselves as to (a) The size of the item, (b) The colour of the item, (c) The suitability of the item before completing the sale.

Misrepresentation

Due to the nature of Antique and Vintage items passing through previous hands having had several owners, they will invariably show an indication of their age and signs of wear. We always attempt to portray the items accurately, in all cases, underlining any obvious defects with illustrations, however it is impossible to highlight every single blemish and as such, the purchaser must be aware that the items we offer for sale are second hand and are not new. In most cases these imperfections are regarded as positive and a sign of the piece’s ‘character’. All antique and upcycled pieces that may have worm holes present are always treated irrespective of whether it is active or not. Measurements are always given as a very near approximation and should never be interpreted as absolute. If an accurate dimension is required for any of the items, we will be happy to clarify it, but this must be done before the sale is finalised by contacting us.
