Description

A charming book about The English Lakes by WT Palmer. Originally published by A&C Black in 1905, this is a 1929 reprint with 32 full colour plate illustrations by A Heaton Cooper (see photos).

In pretty good condition for a vintage book of 89 years old. The main condition point is that there is fairly heavy foxing to the pages throughout, and in particular to the early pages. The closed top edge is toned and there is mild tanning and foxing to the other two edges. With an inscription on the front free endpaper dated Christmas 1929. The 32 colour plates are all present and in good condition.

Blue decorative cloth boards are attractively decorated. The front board has a blind stamped heraldic crest design with black titles. There is rubbing around the edges and rubbing and bumping to the corners. The boards are clean with just some light markings.

The spine also has decorative stamping. It has tanned in comparison to the blue of the front board and has some light white marks. There is some rubbing of the cloth at the head and tail. The gilt lettering is shiny bright and the binding is good and strong.

Packed full of charming illustrations, your copy of The English Lakes will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon.

H 21 cm x W 15.5 cm, 192 pages, 0.61 kg. I dispatch worldwide daily from the UK. (With the exception of a small number of countries).
