From my new line of ornament starts for coiling! Little bitty poinsettia for you to make an original ornament!

Ceramic stoneware center has tiny holes all the way around, ready for you to coil horsehair, pine needles, sisal, fabric scraps, even small gauge round reed, to make a lovely and unique fully-handmade ornament for your holidays! What a thoughtful and unique gift!

This one is white clay with little red poinsettia in the center. Why not make up a kit for a new coiler with it?

This ornament has the design on one side, the back is plain clay, so you can sign and date your handcrafted creation!

Holes in this are placed closer together and are smaller than my other pottery starts, as you can see from photo #4, where it is placed next to a regular sized holiday basket start.

approx. 1" wide, and only 1/16" thick

Of course, if you like the smaller scale, you are perfectly welcome to make a basket using this start. You will need a fine needle, like those available here in my shop.

Please take care not to use a large needle in this fine gauge base! Although it is made of stoneware and fired to 2232 degrees Fahrenheit(!), very very hot, the rim is thin and the little holes make the edge like the perforated edge of stamps...if you put too much pressure on it by forcing a too-large needle through, it will break!
