Description

Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak was first published in 1958. This copy is a first Reprint Society edition issued just a year later in 1959. With the original dust wrapper, translated into English and with Zhivago's poems at the end.

The contents are in pretty good condition for a vintage book of this age. There is some obvious foxing and tanning to the closed edges (see photos) with just the odd foxing spot inside. It looks as if the top closed edge was originally tinted yellow and this has faded over time. This copy has never been written in and there are no other marks of previous ownership.

Red and black papered boards have fared well having been well protected by the dust wrapper. With just some mildly bumped corners.

The striking dust jacket has retained the original strong colouring. The jacket has tanned along the edges and there is some edge wear leading to some chips at the corners and at the head of the spine. The rear of the jacket has some foxing. The jacket has never been price clipped and has been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve.

Your vintage copy of Doctor Zhivago will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon.

H 19.5 cm x W 13 cm, 472 pages, 0.42 kg. I dispatch worldwide daily from the UK. (With the exception of a small number of countries).
