I have some tips for photographing animals. Please use them to get a good photo and then a beautiful portrait. I am happy to help you choose the best photo.
First tip: when shooting the animal try to make sure that the photo it was just below the level of your eyes or at the same level with your eyes. This creates a special effect. The viewer feels that he entered the world of the animal, in its habitat, and is not a bystander.
Second tip: Pay attention to the eyes. The eyes of animals are no less beautiful than those of humans. Therefore, you need to take them in the frame as best as possible and more fully. Focus on the eyes of the animal that would catch the moment when it will look directly at you or slightly to the side.
Third tip: fill the frame with animals. Better, if pet will borrow more than three-quarters there. In addition, do not include in this frame a lot of unnecessary details.
Fourth tip: Do not use the flash. This, I think, all and so understandable. Animals are very afraid of bright flashes, sounds. Their reaction is lightning fast, so if she is afraid of the flash, the frame is 100% you will not succeed. In addition, in natural daylight, animals look much more efficient and familiar. The only exception to the use of a flash can be very dark fur, black fur of the animal. In this case, normal light may not be able to handle the detail of the wool in the frame, as it will absorb light and the flash will help natural light in this.
Fifth tip: when you shoot a walking, wandering, walking animal, leave a little space in the picture in front of him. Thus, the viewer will have the right feeling that he sees the animal going forward. The same thing if the animal is looking somewhere-a little free space in front will indicate that it is really looking into the distance, not at the edge of the photo. If this space was not in front of the animal, it begins to arise an uncomfortable feeling that it goes out of frame.

Lighting can be selected very different. For a portrait it would be better if the light is bright (e.g., daylight window), a unidirectional and will illuminate only one side of the face and body of the animal. This way, light and shadow will sink into the deep fur of the animal and you will get a great contrast and detailed hairs in the fur.
