FAQs

The Copper and Brass rings are sealed from the elements and will not tarnish or discolor your skin. The coating is very durable and the best on the market however, NO coating is permanent. It's always best to remove the ring before manual labor or any activities requiring the handling of hard metal or abrasive objects that will contact the ring. Let's face it, of all the jewelry we wear, rings take the most abuse. I offer free recoating for as long as you own the ring. (Limit, 2 re-coats per yr.) Buyer pays shipping to and from my shop for recoating.
**USE NO ABRASIVE POLISHES, SOLVENTS, OR COMMERCIAL TARNISH REMOVERS (ie: Tarnex, Copper/Brass polish) TO CLEAN!! Mild soap and water and a soft rag is sufficient to polish these rings.
Please contact me with any custom requests you may have. I aim to please!
In a word, Yes. The law reads, altering any U.S. currency for the purpose of defrauding or portraying the bill or coin as a higher value bill or coin is illegal. I do neither. Wear'm without fear. No worries. :)
Yes! I offer free recontrasting and re-sizing for as long as you own the ring. Just contact me to let me know. Buyer pays shipping to and from my shop. I do not charge a handling fee. (Limit, 2 re-coats per year.)
Absolutely! They are my favorite rings to make. Great care will be taken to ensure your coin or medallion makes the finest ring possible. Just contact me to set up shipping to my shop. I will send you pictures of of your coin or medallion throughout the ring making process. You'll be right there with me through it all and can request different options along the way to suit your taste. Options like shape, contrasting, size and finish can be decided during the ring crafting process in near "real time" thanks to today's technology. Contact me for pictures of Custom Rings I have made from people's Coins and Unique Medallions. ALL have been very satisfied customers.
Things You'll Need-

- Ruler
-Thin strip of paper
-Pen or pencil

Cut a thin strip of paper
Wrap the paper around your finger. Make sure the paper is below the joint of your finger and close to your knuckle.
Mark the spot where the paper meets and measure the distance with your ruler.
Use the following chart to determine your ring size. Rings also come in half sizes, the measurements of which, of course, will fall somewhere in between the whole sizes.

Size 4: 1 13/16 inches

Size 5: 1 15/16 inches

Size 6: 2 1/16 inches

Size 7: 2 1/8 inches

Size 8: 2 1/4 inches

Size 9: 2 5/16 inches

Size 10: 2 7/16 inches

Size 11: 2 9/16 inches

Size 12: 2 5/8 inches

Size 13: 2 3/4 inches

Size 14: 2 7/8 inches
Rings are normally made either the same day, for orders placed before 11 a.m. or the next day for orders placed after 11 a.m. Mon.-Sat., The clear coat process actually takes longer than forming the ring. Rings get a triple dip in an industrial crystal clear coating that needs to semi-cure for at least one hour between dips and needs to semi-cure again for two hours after the last dip before it is put into a special oven for a final heat cure of 180 deg. for two hours. Total time for clear coating and heat curing? Not to worry, I did the math for you ;), 6 hrs assuming perfect humidity and temperature that day. This is actually fast. Without the heat curing, the time until ring can be worn is five days! Wear it when you get it, no worries!
Care for these rings as you would for any other Silver Jewelry. Silver polish and a buffing cloth. Just remember, the harder you rub while buffing, the more patina you will loose. Just a light passing over will bring it back to a shine. Harsh cleaners such as Tarnex will remove the patina contrasting completely. Patina is not permanent on Silver rings with no clear coating. Silver will not discolor most peoples skin so clear coating isn't applied unless specifically asked for or stated in the ring ads description. **Heavy Black contrasted Silver rings are all clear coated to protect the black highlights from wearing off.
Coin rings are unique in their shape. The forging process stretches the middle of the coin while shrinking the outside edge of the coin to your ring size. Since the coin is basically the same thickness when the process begins, this makes for a ring that is thicker on one end than the other. This is only noticeable on the inside of the ring. To make it the same thickness throughout, the inside detail would be lost in milling the ring. The thicker, reeded edge (tiny grooves like on a quarter) side is the actual ring size. The ring will fit better when worn with the reeded edge towards the tip of your finger since the other end is just a tad larger to make a symmetrical ring. It will prevent the ring from riding up onto your middle knuckle.
Although the clear coating I use is the best on the market, no coating is permanent. After a few months of constant wearing (sooner if you handle abrasive objects while wearing the ring), the coating will diminish and the bronze or copper in the ring will start to discolor your skin. When that happens, return the ring to me and I will recoat it for free. Just ship it to me with a self addressed stamped envelope and you will get it back within one week. Limit, 2 free recoats per year. You can also brush a thin layer of clear nail polish on the inside of ring to hold you over until you return it.

Nope! Lol. I can't afford the overhead and keep prices this low. They usually ship wrapped in breathable tissue paper inside a small brown envelope that is also ventilated. The priority mail cardboard box they are packed in will have air holes punched in it as well. Rings that are clear coated need to have access to air to completely cure. The time the ring spends in shipping has been figured in to the total cure time the clear coat needs to harden. If you ordered a silver ring with no contrasting, it will not come with a clear coat applied. Sorry, I don't gift wrap and the packaging won't win any prizes for beauty but, the ring is well protected and you'll forget about the ugly packaging when you uncover your beautiful ring! ;)
