Soda Beastalo, October 2010
Wood and soda fired stoneware and porcelain
5" tall x 3" wide x 4" deep

This stalwart beast is a one-of-a-kind hand made monster. He's made from coarse stoneware, with fine porcelain horns. He was fired in a wood/soda kiln, where the kiln was heated with wood up to 2300 Fahrenheit. At that point, soda was put into the kiln, which reacts with the clay and gives it a very nice (and unpredictable) shine.

Soda Beastalo is a good guy, who's always there to listen if you're stressed. He's not the fastest, but he doesn't mind. Whenever he thinks of a joke, he slowly starts shaking with silent laughter, and is never able to actually tell the joke, due to laughing so hard. Probably for the best. Most of his jokes aren't actually that good.
