Description

We love collecting vintage cookbooks and especially love finding the prior owners favorite recipes and notes tucked within the pages. We wish we knew the ladies that owned our collection of wonderful books as they must have been fantastic women and cooks.

This ‘The United States Regional Cook Book’ was issued in 1939 by Ruth Berolzheimer, Director of the Culinary Arts Institute. There are 752 pages including Table of Contents, Index, Color and Black and White Plates with Indexed Pages for each section of the book.

This unique vintage hardback cookbook consists of TEN principal sections, each devoted to a characteristic American style of cooking, complete with large number of recipes and detailed discussion of procedures. This is actually ten cookbooks in one!!

The ten sections include:
* New England Cook book
* Southern Cook book
* Pennsylvania Dutch Cook book
* Creole Cook book
* Michigan Dutch Cook book
* Mississippi Valley Cook book
* Wisconsin Dutch Cook book
* Minnesota Scandinavian Cook book
* Southwestern Cook book
* Western Cook book
* Cosmopolitan American Cook book

Condition: Very very good vintage condition. The cookbook does not appear to have been used very much. No torn, soiled or written on pages. Light yellowing of pages due to age. The binding is tight, the front and back covers show normal shelf wear, fabric binding worn on corners and bottom of book. Still a fabulous cookbook in great condition for its age and ready for a new cook to enjoy the many tried and true recipes!!

Bon Appetit!!
