Description

JAMES HARE BOTANICAL SILKS COLLECTION EMBROIDERED SILK

4 x Sample Pieces - measuring approximately 11½" x 10" (29.5cm x 25.5cm)

3 pieces are silk dupion and 1 piece is silk organza. The last 2 photos are taken from stock library images to give you a more accurate shade of the buttermilk colour

Original retail of these fabrics is £50++ per metre so they are excellent quality English silks

FROM THE BOTANICAL SILKS COLLECTION:

James Hare "Climbing Floral" 31413/02: ONE PIECE
Colour: Buttermilk
100% Silk Dupion

James Hare "Climbing Floral" 31416/02: ONE PIECE
Colour: Buttermilk
100% Silk Organza

James Hare "Ruffled Trellis" 31418/02: ONE PIECE
Colour: Buttermilk
100% Silk

James Hare "Ornamental Stripe" 31420/02: ONE PIECE
Colour: Buttermilk
100% Silk

Each sample piece has small staple holes approx 2 cm in from the top of the fabric where it was originally stapled into the sample book. On the back of each silk sample piece is a paper border to stop the silk from fraying. These fabrics are ideal for quilting projects or for cushion craft. The James Hare samples have backing papers that are extremely easy to remove so you shouldn't need the tips below.

TIPS FOR REMOVING THE BACKING PAPER: Some of the backing papers come away very easily but others require a little more attention. With those ones I usually find it is best to lay the fabric down on a flat surface with the paper side facing you. I then run my nail very gently under the edge of the paper, working it loose until I can fit my finger under. Once I can fit my finger under, then I hold the paper up gently with one hand and then slowly push my finger along the flat surface of the fabric, which will help to push the paper up and separate it from the fabric. I keep working my way along the entire edge of the fabric in this way. Don't be tempted to just pull the paper up or it is likely to simply tear. The best way to achieve a clean removal is to get your finger underneath and work it loose that way.
