Arianrhod and Morrigan are goddesses in Celtic mythology. Arianrhod is the Welsh Goddess of the Silver Wheel - also called the Star and Moon Goddess, the Moon-Mother Goddess, and the Silver Wheel that Descends into the Sea. She is associated with the stars and moon, fertility, life and birth, and reincarnation. Some believed she was the carrier of dead souls on her oar wheel to the Moon-land. Arianrhod is said to transform at times into a white owl at night, spreading her wings to offer comfort and healing.

Morrigan is the Irish Goddess of War - also called the Queen of Phantoms, the Goddess of Death, and the Guardian of the Dead - she is associated with war and fate, the foretelling of doom, death, or victory in battle. Morrigan is also known as a triple goddess, the triple source of power needed to transport between life and death and back again. She is said to shape shift into a raven or crow during times of battle, influencing the outcome by inspiring fear or courage, sometimes joining the battle itself.

Arianrhod and Morrigan represent life and death, war and peace - opposites coming together in the cycles of life and reincarnation. Arianrhod holds a locket in the form of a triple moon which symbolizes the maiden, the mother, and the crone—innocence and purity, compassionate nurturer, and experienced wisdom. Morrigan holds the key.
