How It Works
_________________________

Here is how the Oak Bark Outfitter Kit works. When a kit is purchased, Carmine Jack Leather Co will ship the kit direct to the purchaser or to the recipient of their choice. Please let us know if this is being sent directly to someone as a gift and we will include a note regarding who is sending this gift! Once received, the recipient mixes and matches the leather swatches with the different buckle finishes to create their desired leather/buckle combo. Use the included tailors tape, and the instructions provided on the order form, to measure your existing belt to achieve the best fitting belt. (IMPORTANT NOTE: Your belt size is not your pants size!). Complete the order form and send it back to us by email.

When Carmine Jack Leather Co receives the order form, we customize the belt according to the selection on the form and then tailor fit the belt to the new owners specified size. Once complete, the belt will ship direct to the new owner using the address provided on the order form. Processing times are based on leather availability and are processed on a first come first serve basis. If your selected leather is in stock, production times range between 2 and 4 weeks before your Oak Bark Shipyard belt is ready to ship. Oak Bark Shipyard belts can be sized up to a 53” belt size (roughly a size 50 waist line). If you, or the recipient, require an extended size beyond this please contact us for availability and we will help you figure out a solution.

The “Redeem Your Kit By” date is a guideline. We are committing to offer the color options on your voucher for a period of six months. After that we may have different leather colors. This is by no means a deadline where if you don’t use it you lose. We want everyone to redeem their belts cause these belts rock!

If you would like order additional belts with your kit please contact us for pricing.

Our Leather
_________________________

Our Oak Bark Shipyard belts are made from thick Full Grain Oak Bark Bridle from the J&FJ Baker tannery in Devon England. Oak Bark Bridle leather has a firm temper, is hard wearing, yet remains incredibly supple. Oak Bark Bridle leather is thick and can range from 4mm to 6.5mm in thickness. Because this is a natural product coming from an amazing living creature, the thickness on your belt might vary from one end of the thickness range to the other. If you are looking for a thin, flimsy, reversible belt, then our belts are not for you. Oak Bark Leather belts will require a break-in period. As you use the belt, and your body naturally heats up the leather, the fibers will begin to loosen some yet remain incredibly durable. Full grain leather shows not only the life of the animal if came from, but tells the story of its new owner. Enjoy this period of time as you scribe your story into this beautiful blank leather canvas.

Nature’s Imperfections
___________________________

At Carmine Jack Leather Co we celebrate the natural imperfections that make each belt unique. Your belt may include bug bites, scrapes, scratches, scars, or fat wrinkles; all of which help tell the story of the life of the beautiful animal that provided us this incredible material. The thickness of our belts can vary from 4mm to 6.5mm and some belts may experience such a thickness change from one end of the belt to the next. There has yet to be a cow alive that has perfectly consistent thick skin, therefore leather is going to vary some in thickness. Oak Bark Leather is hand stained at the tannery and as such there will be variations in the color and finish from one belt to the next. Because each hide is stained by hand Carmine Jack Leather Co cannot guarantee the color of each belt will totally match the color samples provided in the kit.

The Last Remaining Oak Bark Tannery
__________________________

J&FJ Baker has been tanning leather using traditional English oak bark since the tannery opened on their current location over 600 years ago. Their Oak Bark Leather is tanned for 12 months in pits containing oak bark and local river water. The ultra slow 12 month English Oak Bark tanning process means the leather doesn’t swell up during tanning ensuring the fibers maintain natural alignment. This translates into a high tensile strength leather that is ideal for tough belts that will last. The leather has a firm temper yet remains incredibly supple. As the leather breaks in the suppleness increased along with the durability. Using traditional Currier methods and time honored traditions, each hide is hand stained and curried using generations old color recipes and dubbin.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES ON BELTS
___________________________

Due to the custom nature of our belts, there are no returns or exchanges accepted. That being said, we stand behind the craftsmanship and materials we work with. Carmine Jack Leather Co offers a Craftsmanship Guarantee. In the event of an issue arising due to the craftsmanship of this belt, please contact us immediately. You may be asked to provide photos in the event of craftsmanship issue. Full grain leather comes from an animal that was once living, breathing, and walking this earth. During its time on our fair planet it interacted with its environment. It may have gained some weight through its life, tackled a pile of barbed wire, was on the losing end of a pair of long horns, and a multitude of other situations that may lead to scars, scratches, bite marks, scrapes, and fat wrinkles appearing on the leather. Carmine Jack Leather Company views these variations in the leathers as badges of honor and celebrates the uniqueness that this provides every belt we produce. We do not view these as negative marks against the materials being used and do not consider them to be grounds for a Craftsmanship Guarantee return. Such imperfections will not affect the strength and durability of the leather.
