Description

A gift for her - my Venus statue. This is my sculpture of the female figure, my antique cast stone art. I have interpreted the Aphrodite Kallipygos or Callipigia Venus, an ancient Roman marble statue that is thought to be a copy of an even older Greek original. It shows a woman, pulling aside her light robe to uncover her hips, and looking back and down over her shoulder. Callipigia Venus literally means “Venus (or Aphrodite) of the beautiful buttocks.”

The dimensions are 4 3/8" wide x 10 3/4" tall and it weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. A galvanized metal hook is embedded in the back. This wall plaque can be hung on a wall, indoors or outdoors.

I will hand cast your cast stone Callipigia Venus from a mold I made of my original plaster carving. Your sculpture will be hand finished with gold highlights over a bronze and blue base (A 13 6 27). The mineral oxide pigments are 100% permanent and lightfast, and unlike the original Roman statue, it is further protected by a UV barrier coating.
