Description

Description: A simle and lovely goldstone filigree brooch that is silver plated. Goldstone is a special type of glass, first created by the glass artisans of Venice for 200 years, then later Czechoslovakia and Germany. The adventurescence in this glittery glass comes from copper crystals formed during the melting process. This process of heating to the correct temperature was very difficult which made the glass prized due to its unpredictability production.

It is assumed the goldstone is Bohemian to possibly early Czechoslavakia based on te era it was in. On the back there is a C- clasp closure with a round rivet set hinge. Unmarked. Circa 1910's -1920's.

Measurements: 1 1/2" in length by 3/4" at the widest point.

Condition: Good condition with slight wear only noticeable under magnification to the silver on the ends of the frame. There are a couple slight chips on the right edge and a scratch aross the stone. This does not detract from the beauty.

Shipping time: Ships within 1 to 3 days.
