From 1996 until 2008 I made stoneware pots and fired a propane fueled salt kiln.

Most of those pots have gone away to happy homes but there are a few still around in the shop.

This pot was thrown on the potters wheel before being altered into an oval shape. A spout and handle were added and a clay stopper formed.

This is a nice little pourer for soy sauce or to keep cooking or olive oil in by the stove top.

It has beautiful flashing from the kaolin slip that was applied before going into the salt kiln.

Several areas have been heavily blasted by the sodium moving through the kiln. This sodium has reacted with the silica in the clay to form the classic 'orange peel' texture.

6 x 3 1/4 x 5 3/4" (including handle and spout)

This pot bears my original RP stamp on the side near the bottom.

Stoneware. Glazed interior.
