Description

For sale is a tall, beautiful, heavy Bohemian art glass vase, crafted for Hut Princ glass hut by renowned Czech glass artist Petr Hora in 1999. The thick, uneven elliptical glass has a lovely light blue cast to it, the top edge is “natural”, reminiscent of a bark edge on a wood bowl. The upper body sits on very heavy base of folded glass, which looks like ice with its bubble inclusions. This is a beautiful piece of art glass, at the same time very modern, but heavily nature-inspired. Please note that we have two smaller versions for sale in separate postings! They are all slightly different.

Petr Hora began his studies in 1965 at the Applied College of Glass-making in Zelezny Brod, where Libensky acted as Director. In 1971, after his studies at the Glass-making School near Trebon, Hora began working at the renowned Beranek glass factory in Skrdlovice and became its director in 1987. He obviously worked for Hut Princ glassworks, while establishing his own studio – this is an educated guess, as his biography doesn’t list his collaborations. Hora’s contemporary work is strictly sculptural.

In very good vintage condition, no chips, cracks or fleabites. Signed to the bottom: “Petr Hora, 99”.
